Alex Howard
CEng FIChemE
Co-Founder & CEO

Alex Howard also a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. Alex has extensive experience in operations, start up and commissioning, as well as engineering design.

Alex has held senior leadership roles in a large industrial gasses company managing regional teams, executed multi-billion-dollar projects all over the world including the world’s largest industrial gasses facility’s commissioning effort. 

Alex’s experience and commitment is primarily focused on supporting our clients in achieving flawless execution of challenging renewable projects and driving towards an efficient, effective and sustainable future.

Richard Freeman
CEng FIChemE - MBA
Co-Founder & CCO

Richard leads from our UAE offices; he is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He also has an MBA. 

Richard has more than 30 years of experience in operations, start up and commissioning, as well as engineering design with a focus on the bottom line.

Jonathan Upton
CEng, MIChemE
Technical Director

Jonathan is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over a decade of experience in process engineering, commissioning, start-up and operation. Jonathan is currently based in Saudi Arabia and working on various projects across the globe.

Jonathan has held a variety of engineering roles within international, world-scale industrial gas and gasification projects, particularly during the complex transitional phase from construction to commissioning, start-up and early operation. Jonathan has a strong focus on Process Safety and safe systems of work, in both project environments and mature operational settings. Jonathan has a keen interest in new technologies that support the overall decarbonisation of global industry

Tim Earls
BEng, PGDip, CEng, MIMechE
Project Execution Director

Tim is a charted Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience having held senior leadership positions in Project Management, Engineering Management and Technical disciplines for global EPC and Industrial Gases organisations. Tim holds a Diploma in Management from Aston Business School.

Tim has worked across a variety of engineering projects ranging from Conceptual studies, Pre-FEED and FEED through to billion-dollar EPC projects across the world. These projects have included PMC, EPMC, EPC execution models within various industry areas including Oil Refining, Natural Gas Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Civil Nuclear Energy & Industrial Gases.

 

In addition to Project Management, Tim has extensive experience in Project Controls covering Cost control, estimating, schedule development, earned value progress measurement, cost and schedule risk analysis and information management.

Lionel Rabin
MEng MBA
Business Development Director

Lionel Rabin joined Engineurs Ltd in 2019 as a Business Development Director and strategy adviser. Through Lionel’s vision, contacts and global project understanding he has been essential in our delivery of green technology and sustainability projects for our clients. 

Prior to 2018, he held management responsibilities for over 3 decades in the energy and industrial gases industries across Europe, North America (USA and Canada), West Asia, and Africa. During his career with the world’s largest hydrogen producer and supplier, he managed the onsite business PnL of various regions.  

Lionel Rabin graduated with a master’s degree in chemical engineering as well as a degree in Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG). Lionel’s passion for bringing together international industrial partners and acute market insight makes him ideally positioned to understand and deliver on your company’s goals and future projects.

Richard Larder
Clean Energy Director

Richard has a Masters in Engineering and has a broad, 30 year experience across many engineering disciplines with a more recent focus on large capital projects development and execution for hydrogen and ammonia production and distribution and CCUS.

Richard has led international teams, engineering projects (green and brown-field), technical centre service, manufacture and business management, for the supply of gases, chemicals, services and equipment to many industries including bio-energy as well as oil and gas.  He has a passion for helping customers and teams succeed with large challenges and delivering cleaner energy solutions for a sustainable future.

Rayo Agbaje-Earls
BEng, MSc, MBA (2023)
Principal Energy Consultant

Rayo is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 20 years of experience working with consulting and EPC firms. Her experience encompasses all areas of the project life cycle from concept to operations support.

Rayo specialises in leading multi-discipline teams on due diligence, feasibility, concept and new technology selection projects. Her experience spans on and offshore facilities, greenhouse gas mitigation, LNG regasification and subsurface installations.

She is passionate about green technologies and is currently completing an MBA with a focus on energy industry transition strategies.

John Crowther
BEng, MEng, MBA
Operational Excellence Manager

John is a chartered Chemical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.  John has 2 Engineering Degrees and an MBA combined with over 20 years’ experience he is a global expert in delivering safe and efficient operations using optimisation and operational excellence techniques. John is currently based out of our UAE Office. 

John  has a strong balance between technical competency and practical experience and a broad breath of knowledge across all departments and disciplines.

James (Jim) specialises in various qualitative risk review and quantitative risk analysis methodologies to provide safety guidance to our customers, local authorities, and global safety associations in supporting large-scale alternate energy and “green” opportunity initiatives. Jim has authored many papers relating to Process Safety, given presentations at global symposiums, and holds eight patents. 

Jim is a Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), Over a 40-year career Jim held increasingly significant roles of responsibility within a fortune 500 industrial gases company, culminating in becoming the most senior Process Safety member of their global engineering team, supporting high-profile and new business area opportunities worldwide. 

Cheryl Freeman Phillips
Executive Assistant

Cheryl has spent her career as a Personal Assistant, Office Manager and in Administration roles within the Educational and Corporate sector.  Working and living in Shanghai, China was a highlight of her career.

Working for Engineurs is exciting and inspiring, assisting professionals who are trying to make a difference and offering environmental alternatives for chemical engineering projects.  

Being part of a team that is fast, dynamic, and always looking at the next new development is exciting and rewarding. The mantra of Engineurs wanting to be recognized for Globally making a difference to a “Greener World” is very close to my heart.
